Recently spotted in Hollywood was Beyonce Knowles. She looked stunning as usual but something seemed very different…
She looks almost white in this photo.
Her skin color was noticeably lighter. So much that at certain angles she was unrecognisable.
Would you have known this was Beyonce?
As a comparison, lets take a look at Beyonce during her Destiny’s Child days…

Well, there are a couple of possible explanations for the photos of lighter skinned Beyonce:
What do you think? If she did lighten her skin, I think it’s a shame since Beyonce’s natural skin colour was perfect.
According to a survey by British pharmacy chain Superdrug, 1 out of 3 women won’t leave their homes without any makeup on.
I wonder if the results would be the same in Malaysia. I think it depends on the demographics. When I’m in Hartamas I’ve seen women all dolled up to the nines shopping for groceries. While in Subang Jaya where my parents live I think women are more easy going about their looks.
Also, the average woman waits at least two and a half months before revealing her unmadeup face to her boyfriend.
Hmmm. I think that’s about true. Especially if you’re very very good at makeup. I think one of my guy friends once told me, he would never commit to a girl before he’s seen her face without makeup. lol. I know I’ve kind of fibbed about wearing makeup to guys I’m interested in before. You know, along the lines of ” no, I’m not wearing makeup. My cheeks are naturally rosy…”
Yeah.
Another girlfriend (who shall remain nameless) who was living with her long term boyfriend actually woke up at 6 am every morning to put on some powder, blush, lipstick and a bit of eyeshadow before getting back into bed. When the boyfriend wakes up at around 7 am, he would awake to a vision of loveliness. You can call it crazy. She calls it working at the relationship.
And while I’m on this topic, I just want to share this with you:

That’s actually the usually very lovely Ms. Katy Perry. That photo was taken by her husband Russell Brand one very early morning which he then tweeted. While I don’t understand how she still hasn’t killed him after he tweeted the photo for the whole planet to see , my point is that 99.99% of us look kind of iffy in the morning.
I think makeup is a wonderful weapon tool as it allows me to present the best version of myself to the world . But I think it’s best if along with your makeup skills, women also develop their self-confidence skills, so that if ever you find yourself sleeping next to your boyfriend, you won’t have to wake up so early in the morning to refresh yourself. Just ask him to close the damn blinds and get you some coffee instead : )

Its 12.10 midnight.
Im still wide awake… the weekend hasnt been that kind to me. I dropped my phone while rushing to answer a call…..was a nasty hard fall .The cover went east ,the battery went west…and some part are now jammed ,loosen , not working well. arggghhhhhh….
Anyways ,im just keen to talk about NATURAL look at the moment. No ,im not talking about waking up fresh from bed and looking all ‘natural‘ . No ,not that one … this is the ” i took an hour of this and that just to look colourless as if lipstick is the only thing i put on “.
So ,on Saturday ,a gf of mine called up asking me to accompany her to run some errands shopping. The only mistake she did was to give me only 30 mins to get ready! By the time she was honking in front of the house , i was justtttttt about to put on my foundation , like it or not ,she came in ,sat next to me ,watching me do my make up. It was a torturing 30 mins (or more perhaps ) for her to see the end result of almost colourless make up with only lipstick colour on ,as if.
I just want to share with you what i need to apply in order to look as if nothing have been applied.
* First , ill start by applying a thin layer of foundation by MAC. And prolly have another layer only on those visible uneven skin tone area caused by acne scar so on.
* Than eye concealer also by MAC.
* Loose powder all around the face and also neck.
* I dont know use eyebrow pencil ,but i use bobbi brown brown shade eyeshadow to define them.
* Next , will be eyeshadow – i use a gold eyeshadow to lighten up my eye lids.
* Just to make the eyes more define , i apply eyeliner by MAC.
* And of course ,cant live without mascara!! Ill apply both on the upper and bottom lashes. This is my fav step ,ill apply at the upper lashes as well as the bottom lashes. Smudge around the lower eye lines ,it will also look as if u applied eye liner at the lower eye lines.
By than ,things are easier . Its just gonna be your wise colour collection ,base on your total look/attire and also your mood!
* Next will be lipstick ,nowdays im over using MOCHA by MAC. Its an orange base colour ,works so well with my ‘natural’ skin tone. HEHE!!
* Lastly , ill pat some blusher on ,to give the skin a ‘natural ‘ glow.
For blusher ive been using a 2 in 1 function kit by Bobbi Brown. Its a blusher and a lipstick. Very easy to use ,just pat pat pat pat pat on the cheecks.
Walla!! im all done…
Ya ,so thats what my routine is on a typical weekend when i need to step out from my confort zone-my room ,and be in public.
Do i look all natural here? . . . . effortless ,as if!!
Apart from the torturing waiting for her , the day ended with ear to eye grin happy with her buys. And the lovely time we spent together.

…….besides waking up late , stayed in bed all day long , shower when the sun is setting down again , do nothing and be a prisoner of my own room …. i did some baking!! * yippie!! *
Just exaggerating ,i woke up early to run some errands ,and was home alone which than i decided to carry on my Baking Project -Red Velvet!!
Im not really a big fan of this cake ,but since some of my friends have been GUGUGAGA over it ,i decided to give it a try.
mix everything in . . .
The recipe was pretty simple ,basically you need the basic ingredients : eggs , sugar , vanilla extract , cocoa , buttermilk , oil , vinegar and lastly the RED colouring. I cheated a little this time ,as i skipped a few steps ,like adding salt and used milk instead of buttermilk. You can get buttermilk at the grocery shop or make your own simply by adding milk with lemon juice or sub it with yougurt (thats what google told me) . . . or u can mix milk with cream of tartar….suddenly i know so much.. *–* .
Oh ,and i also used OLIVE oil in this recipe , rather than the vegetable oil they suggested. This i dont recommend as you need to use a lot ,and olive oil is EXPENSIVE!! *slaps myself*. You will need 1 1/2 cup of oil , and when my MIL asked me ,how much olive oil did i use , i said 1 1/2 cup!! TEEHEEEHEE!! #D
Another reason why you shouldnt use olive oil is because it has a strong taste/smell of its own ,so its gonna influence the Red Velvet taste and aroma .
Add all that in and wallaa!!! done deal ,here i represents you my ‘Water-Hand’ (air tangan) . . . . .
BAKE FOR 30 MINS . . . . wait till your oven RINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG like cuckoOooOo ,comes out these fluffly little red devils.

Verdict : Those who was forced to tried ,said it was GOOD. but personally i feel it can taste better ,plus i didnt finish up the project with its cream frosting.
